Richard and I attended Compline this evening at St. Mary’s church in Flixton.
“ Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.
Lead me in your truth, and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all day long.”
Psalm 25 vv 4-5

Amen. Lovely church photos, Clare! And your trees don’t look any further along in the leaf department than ours, which surprises me.

Thank-you, Lisa. Our leaves appear gradually most years starting with the shrubs and hedges and then the taller trees. By mid-May the trees should be all in leaf. I think that compared with this time last year we are a lot greener as we have had some warm days and much more sunshine.

I don’t know when I last heard Compline. I remember that when we were at school, we used to call it ‘the complete spiritual food’, after its alter ego, Complan.
